About our resources

Our continually developing collection of books and journals covers all aspects of health from acute care to primary care, mental health, public health, health management and research. We hold over 17,000 books, 100 journals and over 1300 health promotion resources and items of IT equipment, all available for loan in our libraries at Rotherham Hospital, Oak House Bramley and at the Rotherham Community Health Centre.  Read more about our collections.

In addition to our print collection, we have collection of ebooks and ejournals available to all NHS staff in Rotherham from your desktop or mobile.  We also have a collection of online databases for NHS staff such as Medline, CINAHL, AnatomyTV, BMJ Best Practice and DynaMed.

Our resources can be borrowed by TRFT staff and students, Rotherham CCG staff and independent contractors (GPs, pharmacists, dentists and opticians), Rotherham Public Health staff, Rotherham Hospice staff, NHS England staff based at Oak House, the Clinical Effectiveness Team at NHS England, and social services staff involved in patient care.

Teachers, school and college students, youth workers and other groups with an interest in health promotion are also welcome to use our health education resources and to contact us for information about heath promotion and public health.  NHS staff are very welcome to borrow items from our IT Equipment collection.

Library members are welcome to use any of our service points and to borrow items from any collection.  We can arrange for resources to be transferred to any of our service points for you to collect.  We are also able to send books and journals out to NHS community centres and GP or dental practices.

Read more about borrowing, our terms and conditions and complete a membership form.

Search our online catalogue to find out what we've got.  If we don't have the item you're looking for, we offer an interlibrary loan service.  We're also always glad to receive suggestions for new items for the collections: please send us your suggestions.

View our service point pages to learn more about what's in each collection.

Special note regarding Health Promotion Leaflets
Our local department of Health Promotion is no longer able to provide a central ordering and distribution system for leaflets and posters.  We are now asking all of our users to order leaflets directly from suppliers e.g. the Department of Health.  Please see our Leaflet Ordering Guide which outlines the leaflets that we previously supplied and how to order them directly from suppliers.  There are a small number of leaflets which we will continue to supply directly and these can be ordered via the order form at the end of the guide.
