How do I borrow?
We ask all borrowers to complete a membership form either before borrowing or at the point of borrowing resources from our collections. Complete one of our online membership forms (please read the descriptions below and select the appropriate form):
Our resources can be borrowed by all staff and students working in TRFT, the Rotherham CCG and independent contractors (GPs, pharmacists, dentists and opticians), Rotherham Public Health, Rotherham Hospice, NHS England staff who are based at Oak House (Bramley), social services staff involved in patient care and students on placement within the organisations we serve.
In addition, teachers, school and college students, youth workers, early years workers, volunteers and other groups with an interest in health promotion who live, work or study locally are also welcome to use our health education resources and to contact us at Oak House for information about heath promotion and public health. Contact us if you would like to check your eligibility.
NHS staff are welcome to borrow items from our collection of IT and Display Equipment.
Our standard loan period for books is three weeks. Short-loan items can be borrowed for one week. You may borrow up to 15 items at a time. Books can be renewed up to six times (for 3 week loan books) and 12 times for 1 week loan books, subject to recall from other borrowers. Flexible conditions are available for our IT and display equipment and for our health education resources which may be borrowed for longer periods. These items can also be booked out in advance and more than ten items can be borrowed at a time for health promotion events and activities.
NHS library members are welcome to use any of our service points and to borrow items from any collection. We can arrange for resources to be transferred to any of our service points for you to collect. We are also able to send books and journals out to NHS community centres and GP or dental practices. View our Library Collections pages to learn more about what we have at each of our service points.
Non-NHS members: please use our Oak House service point as this is where we house our health promotion resources.
Search our online catalogue to find out what we've got. If we don't have the item you're looking for, we offer an interlibrary loan service. We're also always glad to receive suggestions for new items for the collections: please contact us with your ideas.
