The NHS Knowledge & Library Hub

Picture

Discover high quality knowledge and evidence resources, all in one place.

The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub connects NHS staff and learners seamlessly to a range of high quality knowledge and evidence resources all in one place, enabling you to find evidence resources to support your clinical practice, learning and research.

What is it?

The new Hub gives you quick access to:
  • over 7,000 journals
  • books and e-publications including OUP handbooks
  • one-click access to full-text articles
  • one-click access to 'request an article' via your local library
  • clinical decision support tools such as BMJ Best Practice
  • NICE pathways and guidelines
  • databases like Medline, EMBASE and CINAHL
  • online support via 'Ask a Librarian'

The Hub is a single gateway that offers an intuitive search experience for quick searches and options for in-depth searches.

Whether you need published knowledge and evidence for patient care, management decision-making, education or research, or just professional curiosity, the NHS Knowledge Hub will provide you with a great place to start your search. The Hub offers streamlined access to full-text articles and gives you options for doing a follow up in-depth search and/or contacting a librarian for assistance.

The Hub looks almost identical wherever you are in the country, but actually includes over 250 locally tailored ‘views’. Wherever you work, you get to see all the nationally-funded digital resources and resources that your local library service has made available.

Find out more about the Knowledge & Library Hub and how it will develop.

Where is it?

  • Go to https://library.nhs.uk/knowledgehub and login with your Athens username and password (register for Athens). You can also enter library.nhs.uk/rotherham into any search engine to navigate to the Hub.

  • Or you can connect directly to your organisation's version of The Hub below (you'll still need to login with Athens for full access to resources and Hub features):
    > RFT staff and students login to The Library & Knowledge Hub here
    > Rotherham CCG and General Practice staff login to The Library & Knowledge Hub here
    > Rotherham Public Health & Social Care staff login to The Library & Knowledge Hub here

Watch out too for the embedded search boxes on the library website, links to the Hub from the intranet and a desktop icon on your NHS devices.
