The broad aim of the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine is to develop, teach and promote evidence-based health care. From their website resources available include their You Tube Channel and a series of 24 podcasts covering a variety of topics.
Evidence Based Nursing Practice
This website presents information “in a straightforward format, to guide nurses who are new to the concept of EBP. It also directs those with more in-depth knowledge to other resources to further develop their ability to use evidence in practice”.
Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP)
The website provides resources on how to make sense of evidence. There are six online learning modules that “guide you through the process of learning how to find the evidence, how to assess the validity and reliability of the published research”. There are also checklists to assess different study designs, e.g. systematic reviews, randomised controlled trials and case controlled studies.
