Welcome to our service point at Oak House, Bramley.
Please note: our service point at Oak House is currently closed. Oak House is in use as a Covid Vaccination Centre. Library staff are working at the library at Rotherham Hospital and from home to deliver our full range of services. The notes below describe our usual operating procedures at Oak House.
Our full range of library and knowledge services can be accessed from Oak House. Library staff are available between 9am and 5pm every week day at Oak House to provide support, advice, information skills training, expert searching and query answering services, and the library remains open out-of-hours (7am-9am and 5pm-6.30pm) for self-service issues and returns.
The library at Oak House houses over 5,000 books, journals, official documents and reports and focuses on subjects of specific relevance to primary care, general practice, public health, health promotion, health management, personal development and research. Search our online catalogue to find out more. We also provide access to the NHS national collections of ejournals and ebooks.
We loan out IT and display equipment such as laptops, data projectors and display boards: IT equipment can be borrowed by NHS staff and our display equipment is available for loan to all borrowers - NHS and non-NHS members of the library.
Also kept at Oak House is our collection of over 1,000 health education models, DVDs, games, workbooks, displays and interactive teaching packs, all available for loan. Our health education collection covers accident prevention, alcohol, tobacco and smoking cessation, drugs, sex education, puberty, personal hygiene, behaviour, mental health, physical activity, health eating and more. Items from the collection can be borrowed, free of charge, by NHS staff and by anyone who lives or works locally and has an interest in health promotion. You can view items from the collection online and find out how to book items for your event or activity on our health education resources pages.
All NHS staff and contractors are welcome to use the library service point at Oak House (regardless of work base). Items from any of our other collections can be picked up from and returned to Oak House on request.

The Knowledge Space is a break-out area for studying, browsing and snacking (powerpoints available for laptops). There are also two hot desks available for use by NHS staff. Parking is free at Oak House with both long and short stay spaces available. If the car park is full, extra parking is available at the nearby Morrison's supermarket.
